Mango harvesting is not as easy process as it seems. When the best fruit has been picked, it should be de-sapped. Mango tree’s sap has a very sticky texture and can damage the skin of a fruit reducing its quality. The sap is majorly released a few minutes after cutting the stem to seal the wound. Just like people’s cuts would be sealed with blood! The fruit would be picked with a long stem and when it’s cut the fruit would be immediately turned upside down to harmlessly remove the excess sap. The wound would be then treated to avoid any fungal disease.
